Commissioners vote unanimously after an outside investigation into changes she made in her compensation
The Lane County Board of Commissioners unanimously voted to fire county Administrator Liane Richardson today, following the conclusion of an outside investigation into changes made to her compensation earlier this year.
The board terminated Richardson for cause, effective today, meaning that they won’t have to pay her a year’s salary and benefits as well as all her accumulated paid vacation and sick leave, as laid out in her contract for dismissal without cause.
Under her contract, Richardson will still to receive two weeks’ pay and be paid for some accumulated paid vacation and sick leave, however.
Richardson’s base pay is $152,345, or $586 a day.
After meeting in a nonpublic executive session for more than an hour and a half, the board didn’t discuss or explain the decision, citing the potential legal ramifications to publicly discussing a personnel issue.
